Position Overview:
The Tire Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and performance of customer vehicles by inspecting, repairing, and replacing tires. This role demands strong communication skills and the ability to handle physically intensive tasks while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate understanding and empathy towards customers' tire-related concerns.
- Mount and dismount tires, installing both new and used options.
- Conduct thorough inspections to evaluate tire tread depth, wear patterns, valve integrity, and overall tire condition.
- Monitor air pressure, perform puncture repairs, and replace defective valves.
- Utilize balancing equipment and execute wheel alignments.
- Perform oil changes as required.
- Facilitate tire rotations and reset TPMS when necessary.
- Conduct brake inspections.
- Complete work orders and maintain accurate documentation.
- Manage equipment loading, unloading, and storage as needed.
- Organize and maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
- Provide assistance to customers and collaborate with team members as needed.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Commitment to performing all duties safely and in accordance with established protocols.
- Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures consistently.
- Capability to read and follow instructions accurately.
- General mechanical aptitude.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift, with the ability to handle weights up to 75 pounds.
- Experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Team-oriented mindset, working effectively within a group.
- Attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed thoroughly and accurately.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be authorized to work in the USA and at least 18 years old.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Dedication to exceeding customer service expectations.
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Frequent lifting of items over 50 pounds from ground to chest height.
- Occasional squatting, bending, and twisting movements.
- Extended periods of standing.
- Work in a non-climate-controlled environment, with temperatures varying significantly.
- Visual acuity for near, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Auditory awareness for sounds such as ringing phones, alarms, and machinery.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and appropriate footwear.
