Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform microscopic examinations of prepared slides to detect evidence of abnormalities
  • Screen gyn slides and use diagnostic codes to report negative cases and refer abnormal cases to pathologists for review
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed on a daily basis
  • Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and champion safety, compliance, and quality control
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of cytology
  • 1 year of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing
  • Cytotechnologist certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
  • Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to operate general laboratory equipment
