Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the department, distributing and assigning work, determining priorities, and scheduling non-routine procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the activities of the department and ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Distribute and assign work to team members, determining priorities and scheduling non-routine procedures as needed.
Perform supervisory functions, including interviewing, hiring, training, and providing staff development through performance evaluation and corrective counseling.
Perform advanced and specialized tests and other related laboratory techniques, duplicating work as necessary to confirm test results.
Check and approve all specialized and problem reports for accuracy, initiating quality-control measures and monitoring the quality of work for adherence to laboratory standards.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in a biological, chemical, or physical science from an accredited institution.
Four to six years of full-time experience as a medical technologist or equivalent in a clinical laboratory, with previous supervisory experience and experience in Flow Cytometry.
Comprehensive theoretical and operational job knowledge in designated specialty, knowledge of organizational and departmental policies and procedures, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems.
