The Production Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of equipment which blends/mixes/packages/transports liquid or dry chemicals that comprise our customer products. This role ensures the highest quality product at the lowest possible costs while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with Avient policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

* Obtain the correct documentation for the batch.
* Monitor production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues.
* Examine materials visually or physically to ensure conformance with established standards.
* May take samples of materials to lab for evaluation and instructions on any batch adjustments if needed.
* Ensure the correct ingredients are delivered to the work area. May be required to obtain the correct ingredients for mixing and weigh out the ingredients to meet the recipe specifications.
* Set up and start any weigh-up or packaging machinery, checking all controls for adherence to operating/safety procedures.
* Notify appropriate personnel of any issues, problems or concerns in a timely manner.
* Safely and neatly process, batch off, screen, cut up, package and/or skid material to correct size/container according to customer specifications.
* Accurately supply/support Production Operators with appropriate materials/functions to efficiently keep all equipment operational.
* Perform all required machine cleaning.
* Complete and maintain required paperwork and/or documents.
* Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
* Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Requirements:

* High School diploma, GED equivalency or relevant experience
* At least 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred
* Two (2) or more years of manufacturing experience in plastics industry preferred
* Forklift experience preferred
