Job Summary

The City of Clayton is seeking a highly skilled Public Works Technician I to join our team. As a key member of our Public Works Department, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our city's infrastructure, including streets, alleys, sidewalks, and parking facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair public streets, alleys, sidewalks, and parking facilities
  • Operate heavy equipment, such as snowplows and leaf vacuums
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as tree trimming and pruning
  • Assist with construction and repair projects, including installing new streetlights and traffic control devices
  • Provide excellent customer service to the public and respond to citizen inquiries
Requirements
  • High School education or equivalent
  • One (1) year previous work experience in general infrastructure maintenance or hand tools
  • Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain such within six (6) months of hire
