About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Research Engineer to join our team at Ford Motor Company. As a key member of our Research and Advanced Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced energy management and propulsion technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and layout of LV circuits for traction inverter applications
  • Research and development of ASICs for gate drive applications
  • Development of digital and analog circuit designs for gate drive applications
  • Operation and upgrading of power electronic test systems
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of research/industry experience in power electronics and LV circuit design
  • 3+ years of experience in architectural design of ASIC chips for traction inverter gate drive applications
  • 3+ years of experience in digital and analog circuit design for gate drive applications
  • 3+ years of experience operating and upgrading power electronic test systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • PHD degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with EDA, RTL, FPGA, IC design flow and manufacturing
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, PLECS, Simplorer, SPICE, Fusion 360, Altium, KiCAD
  • Adept with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, probes, network analyzer, HV power supplies
  • Basic knowledge in semiconductor classification and operation
  • Knowledge in high voltage systems and high temperature circuit design
  • Understanding of automotive applications and requirements
  • Experience in material and capital purchasing
  • Experience in project management tools
  • Self-motivated individual with strong intrapersonal skills
  • Ability to lead technical projects with a team-oriented personality
  • Strong verbal and presentation skills to ensure effective communications with technical and management teams
