About the Role

Covenant Health (Tennessee) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Roane Medical Center. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Patient Care: Assist physicians and nursing staff before, during, and after surgical procedures by creating and maintaining a sterile field and providing the necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Perform Surgical Procedures: Competently perform a variety of surgical procedures, including difficult or complicated cases, with or without assistance.
  • Maintain Sterile Environment: Demonstrate knowledge of and apply the principles of asepsis to create and maintain a sterile field, ensuring the highest level of patient safety.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work effectively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Certification: Must hold current and active national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification established by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
  • Education: Minimum education requirement is not specified, but must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the CST certification.
  • Experience: None with certification, but prior experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
