Job Title: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Froedtert South is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform routine and special diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to departmental and hospital policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sonographic and ancillary equipment, as well as excellent communication skills to work effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain all sonographic and ancillary equipment to ensure optimal image quality and patient safety.
  • Perform routine and special diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including biopsies and emergency examinations, in accordance with departmental and hospital policies.
  • Recognize and report equipment malfunctions to ensure prompt repair and minimize downtime.
  • Follow ACR and department policies to maximize image view quality and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with department coverage, including on-call hours, to ensure seamless patient care and efficient operations.
  • Schedule appointments and instruct patients on preparation instructions to ensure accurate and timely imaging.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Ultrasound Technology or Radiologic Technology from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 3 months of full-time Sonographer experience or equivalent.
  • Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
  • Ultrasound III registry in three or more disciplines: Abdominal, Obstetrics, Breast, and/or Vascular.
