We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Primary Care Physician to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary care team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive primary care services to a panel of approximately 450 patients
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, degenerative arthritis, depression, congestive heart failure, and chronic pain
- Work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary care team, including nurses, medical support assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for our patients
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve patient care and outcomes
- Must be a U.S. citizen (non-citizen may be considered in accordance with VA policy)
- Must have a current, active, and unencumbered U.S. state medical license
- Must be board certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Annual salary range of $200,000 to $243,000, including biennial longevity pay increases
- Opportunity for an annual performance pay bonus up to $15,000 or 7.5% (whichever is less)
- 26 days of vacation with pay, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays observed, and continuing medical education (CME) opportunities
- Health, dental, vision, and life insurance with premiums partially offset or paid by the government, as well as retirement portability
- Participation in the Federal Employee Retirement System (DB) and Thrift Savings Plan (DC) with 5% matching
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, is the largest, most technologically advanced integrated health care system in the United States. We operate more than 1,400 clinical sites of care, including 153 medical centers, 909 ambulatory and community-based outpatient clinics, 135 nursing homes, 232 Veterans centers, 47 readjustment counseling centers, and 108 comprehensive home care programs, across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories.
