Job Summary

The Glenridge on Palmer Ranch is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our buildings and their contents.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain assigned work areas in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.
  • Follow established safety precautions and Universal Precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies.
  • Clean, wash, sanitize, and polish bathroom fixtures, windows, and mirrors.
  • Clean floors, including sweeping, dusting, damp or wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting.
  • Use proper safety signs when performing floor work.
  • Clean carpet, including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
  • Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, or deodorizing.
  • Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning solutions.
  • Clean hallways, stairways, and elevators.
  • Discard waste and trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacles with plastic liners.
  • Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to the Building Services Director.
  • Report all unusual Member activity to the Assistant Manager of Housekeeping and Laundry Services.
  • Assure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.
  • Report burned-out light bulbs and exit lights to the Assistant Manager of Housekeeping and Laundry Services.
  • Follow assigned work and cleaning schedule as closely as practical.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies on assigned cleaning cart.
  • Change bed linen and exchange bathroom towels.
  • Clean drinking fountains and public areas.
  • Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in common living and/or recreational areas.
  • Understand and follow all regulatory and company policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of members' PHI (Protected Health Information).
  • Perform other various duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must have at least an 8th grade education. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in proper floor maintenance and operation of equipment preferred.
  • Must be able to read and understand printed instructions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Members and staff.
  • Must be able to operate machinery needed to perform various tasks.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be empathetic, enthusiastic, and have an affinity for working with a diverse senior population.
  • Must be well organized and able to work with limited direction, take initiative, and plan and carry out responsibilities.
