Key Responsibilities:


Respond to and prioritize incoming telephone inquiries, addressing questions, taking messages, scheduling patient appointments, or directing calls as necessary.

Maintain the appointment calendar by scheduling patients based on urgency, required exam duration, and patient convenience.


Confirm next-day patient appointments by contacting patients to remind them of their scheduled times, ensuring accurate availability, and rescheduling as needed.

Welcome patients upon their arrival.

Collect patient co-payments.

Verify patient and insurance details in accordance with RHPA guidelines, ensuring all information is accurately updated in the EMR system.

Update charts with copies of current insurance cards and patient registration forms.

Prepare new patient charts as required.

Verify insurance coverage, plan benefits, and ensure patient signatures on various insurance documents.

Keep patients informed of any delays and provide alternative options when feasible.

Coordinate the business and office schedules for the Provider(s).

Facilitate patient check-out by collecting any outstanding payments for services rendered, if applicable.

Input CPT and ICD 10 codes when necessary.

Record and post daily charges and payments as appropriate.

Balance the cash drawer and prepare deposits for the Practice Manager.

Assist patients with billing inquiries as needed, referring complex issues to the Practice Manager.

Sort, distribute, and file relevant mail, lab results, and transcriptions.

Process requests for medical records for patients and other healthcare providers within established timelines.

Perform all duties with respect for the confidentiality and safety of all patients, employees, and Providers.

Adhere to the quality principles and standards set by Reid Health Physician Associates and Reid Health.

Follow up with patients who missed their appointments.

Qualifications:

Education Required:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience Required:
Prior experience with computers.

Experience Preferred:

Six months of clerical experience with a basic understanding of insurance is preferred, along with previous work experience in a healthcare setting or medical-related role, and familiarity with medical terminology.


Work Schedule:
Week - Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 7am-7pm

Week - Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday 7am-7pm
