Position Overview
This role involves operating various solid waste vehicles to collect and transport waste and recycling materials to designated facilities for disposal. The position requires performing physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions and ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of assigned equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the operational integrity, appearance, and safety of equipment and facilities in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Collect and transport solid waste or recyclable materials from commercial entities to appropriate disposal sites.
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of waste collection vehicles.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and complete daily logs.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area and vehicles.
- Address customer service inquiries and assist residents with waste container management as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
- Six months of relevant experience with solid waste collection vehicles.
- Possession of a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience that meets the essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License.
- 1-3 years of experience with solid waste and automotive equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of safety practices related to vehicle operation.
- Familiarity with traffic laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of truck operation and maintenance principles.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.

Physical Requirements
The role primarily involves working in a vehicle while loading waste materials, with frequent exposure to challenging environmental conditions. The majority of work is conducted outdoors, requiring the ability to drive for extended periods in various weather conditions.
