Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop innovative packaging solutions for both new and existing products, ensuring compliance with functional, aesthetic, and regulatory standards.
- Produce prototypes and perform rigorous testing to validate that packaging solutions meet essential performance criteria, including durability, safety, and environmental considerations.
- Assess and select suitable packaging materials based on product specifications, budget constraints, and sustainability goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that packaging solutions align with overall product and business objectives.
- Establish quality control measures to guarantee the consistency and reliability of packaging outputs.
- Ensure all packaging designs meet applicable industry regulations and standards.
- Identify and implement cost-reduction strategies in packaging design and materials while maintaining quality and functionality.
- Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the sustainability of packaging solutions, focusing on waste reduction and recyclability improvements.
- Engage with suppliers and vendors to procure materials and ensure the timely availability of packaging components.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of packaging specifications, testing outcomes, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in packaging engineering or a similar field.
- In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, design principles, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards related to packaging.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines.
- Dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Position Details:
- Contract role
- Standard workweek: Monday to Friday
- Compensation: $30-$40 per hour, based on experience
