Key Responsibilities:
- Perform duties at the in-house shop.
- Repair and maintain various truck models including Mack, International, Ford, Kenworth, and others.
- Adhere to safety protocols, understand OSHA standards, and maintain a tidy workspace.
- Utilize diagnostic software effectively.
- Demonstrate proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Exhibit strong knowledge in diesel engine and hydraulic diagnostics and repairs.
- Conduct complex operations involving engine, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, and brake systems.
- Inspect equipment for mechanical or safety concerns.
- Operate both basic and specialized tools competently.
- Manage parts ordering efficiently.
- Work autonomously or collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrate reliability and punctuality.
Qualifications:
- A one-year certificate from an accredited technical school in diesel mechanics or a related field is advantageous.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- A minimum of two years' experience in the repair and maintenance of electric, diesel, and gas highway vehicles.
- A clean driver's license is mandatory.
- Strong computer and mathematical skills are required.
