Market Development Department

The Market Development (MD) team is responsible for three key functions within our NA business: 1) market strategy, 2) site selection and acquisition, and 3) vertical market expansion planning.

The MD team leads the land and due diligence budget and execution for market expansions across North America, including identification of new markets, expansion planning efforts, and completion of schematic design for handoff to construction.

We evaluate supply, demand, pricing, power availability, and other market factors to inform site acquisition, site development, and construction when developing our market plans.

The team collaborates with Sales, Solution Engineering, Construction, Operations, Finance, and Senior Management.

Position Overview

This role can be based in any of our US locations: Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Santa Clara, CA; or Ashburn, VA.

We are seeking an experienced Manager or Sr. Manager, Market Strategy to lead our team of market analysts in support of market strategy and site selection efforts.

This role will work within the Market Development team and be responsible for keeping a constant pulse on market activity, customer intelligence, and competitor intelligence for existing and new Vantage markets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead internal and external partner teams, successfully leading programs involving peers within and outside of the Market Strategy pillar and demonstrating leadership by influence.
  2. Continuously review, track, and analyze market data in all VDC's existing and planned geographies, incorporating information from third-party analysts, industry contacts, news, and other sources.
  3. Provide thought leadership on market sizing activities and be able to demonstrate in a clear and thoughtful way the opportunities that Vantage has in a particular market or sector; derive insights from this research to produce clear, concise recommendations to leadership.
  4. Collaborate with senior leaders to align department goals with overall Market Development vision.
Requirements

The ideal candidate has shown success in standing up new programs and operating existing ones in a fast-paced, ambiguous, or high-stakes environment, and is able to formulate recommendations from multiple complex and varied data sources.
