This role requires a full-time presence in the office.

Compensation: Starting at $85,000, depending on experience, along with comprehensive employee benefits fully covered.

This position is crucial for the effective and timely management of operational accounting tasks related to Production, Revenue, Royalty, Joint Interest Billing (JIB), Inventory, and reconciliations.

The selected candidate will report directly to the Controller and will also support the CEO and other internal stakeholders. The ideal applicant will possess a keen eye for detail and the ability to quickly adapt to new responsibilities. A strong work ethic, dedication to clear objectives, and a practical approach to learning are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute operational accounting functions in the oil and gas sector as outlined.
  • Assess allocations and calculations, emphasizing accuracy in revenue and royalty reporting.
  • Coordinate and manage the monthly closing procedures for assigned asset groups.
  • Ensure all journal entries are meticulously documented and reviewed for accurate financial reporting.
  • Conduct thorough analyses and reconciliations of general accounts related to Production, Revenue, Royalty, JIB, and Inventory accounting.
  • Evaluate account reconciliations, establishing clear timelines for resolving discrepancies.
  • Take initiative on special project requests from management and operational teams, ensuring successful execution.
  • Assist the Controller in managing external audit and tax inquiries, promoting effective communication and information sharing.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas revenue accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (experience with VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and Formulas is essential). Familiarity with BOLO ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Adept at multitasking, managing complex projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented professional who takes initiative and is committed to achieving results.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to independently address challenges as they arise.
  • A collaborative team player who contributes to a supportive work environment.
