About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Manager to join our team at McLane Company. As a key member of our distribution center operations, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the smooth operation of the Transportation department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all delivery and backhaul activities to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods.
  • Drive key performance indicators for cost savings and optimize logistics operations to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain a properly staffed and trained department to provide the highest levels of logistics support to the warehouse.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in outbound transportation, including knowledge of distribution systems and routing procedures.
  • 4+ years of accounting, planning, analytical, and/or reporting experience.
  • Experience managing large numbers of driving staff and resolving employee relations issues.
  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Access).
