Electronics Assembler Job Description

American Augers, a division of The Toro Company, is seeking an Electronics Assembler to join our team in West Salem, Ohio. As an Electronics Assembler, you will play a critical role in building complex electronic and electromechanical subassemblies and assemblies for our horizontal directional drills and auger boring machines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine methods and sequences of assembly operations, using information from assembly shop and production operation sheets, wire lists, samples, blueprints, and verbal instructions.
  • Inspect and test wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits for resistance factors and operation, and record results.
  • Assemble electrical or electronic systems and support structures, and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, and assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering, and micro-welding equipment.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions.
  • Mark and tag components to track and identify stock inventory.
  • Position, align, and adjust work pieces and electrical parts to facilitate wiring and assembly, using measuring devices such as tape measures, rulers, and combination squares.
  • Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan and review work activities, and resolve production problems.
  • Explain assembly procedures or techniques to other workers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Requirements:
  • Understand the use of electrical measuring equipment, including volt/ohm meters and clamp-on ammeters.
  • Ability to read and assemble to blueprints.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision to complete products.
  • 480 volt AC experience preferred.
  • Arc flash safety training preferred.
