Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Met Lab/Quality Control Technician to join our team at Shively Diversified Management Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting metallurgical testing, analyzing material structures, and ensuring compliance with global manufacturing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform metallurgical testing to analyze material structure, hardness, case depth, and other tests as required
  • Ensure testing is performed quickly to meet production deadlines and follows all required specifications
  • Review test results, prepare reports, and approve materials based on criteria and requirements
  • Promptly communicate results to the met lab supervisor and plant management
  • Develop and maintain charts and reports for sediment and metallurgical processes
  • Comply with all Global Manufacturing System systems and procedures
  • Ability to problem-solve during manufacturing processes
  • Safely and correctly operate lab equipment, perform routine preventative maintenance, and report any issues to management

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • 2-year degree or completion of a program in metallurgy, material science
  • Knowledge and experience conducting metallurgical testing, operating test equipment, and analyzing results
  • Strong computer skills, ability to organize and prepare reports
  • Comply with all safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment, including always wearing the proper PPE, safely handling chemicals, and reporting unsafe work conditions or equipment immediately
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
