Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HVAC Installation Assistant to join our team. As an HVAC Installation Assistant, you will provide assistance to install heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment, as well as other products, in accordance with company requirements and manufacturer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment, as well as other products, in accordance with company requirements and manufacturer specifications.
  • Test systems to ensure proper functioning and identify any issues that may arise.
  • Complete all paperwork in a neat, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Perform start-up on air conditioning systems as needed.
  • Fabricate and install various ducts and duct fittings as required.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; experience may be substituted for education.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn the HVAC trade.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Beginner computing skills and ability to use a computer, laptop, or tablet.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work overtime with little notice and occasional weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HVAC trade school certification.
  • Prior HVAC installation experience.
  • EPA Certification.

Working Conditions:

  • Work will take place at occupied residential homes or construction sites, with minimal time spent in an office environment.
  • Travel by vehicle to and from work locations.
  • Regularly exposed to construction environments involving equipment, elevated work areas, confined spaces, noise, dust, hazardous materials, and odors.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to drive and operate a motorized passenger vehicle or forklift.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Frequently performs tasks requiring climbing, bending at the waist, crawling, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work on platforms/scaffolding using appropriate fall protection requirements.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, reflective safety vests, gloves, and safety toe construction-grade work boots.
  • Ability to adhere to long periods of standing, walking, or sitting.
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds to operate phones or other equipment safely.
  • Ability to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to others.
  • Ability to enter text or data into a hand-held device or computer using a traditional keyboard or 10-key numeric keypad.
  • Ability to use arms and hands to reach overhead, signal, grab, hold, lift, turn, push, and pull objects and tools.
