Mechanical Engineering Associate

Miamisburg, Ohio, United States Barge Design Solutions, Inc. Full time

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Associate to support the design of industrial, commercial, and healthcare projects in our Facilities Engineering Solution Center.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, and review agencies to provide comprehensive project reports or detailed designs.
  • Prepare engineering and design documents using computer-assisted engineering and design software to generate 2D and 3D models and plans.
  • Assist in the analysis or preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, permits, and designs for projects.
  • Complete tasks in the areas of HVAC, plumbing, piping, fire protection, and utility system design.
  • Perform routine manual calculations regarding piping design for liquids and gases, such as calculation of pressure drop and pipe sizing, and the selection of valves and inline fittings.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines, including civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical engineering, to complete detailed designs.
  • Participate in project site visits with other project team members as needed.
  • Participate in Construction Administration of projects by reviewing submittals and assisting engineers in responding to requests for information from contractors.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
  • At least 1 year of experience, preferred.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret job-related manuals and documents.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication and teamworking skills.
  • Experience in building design/construction or related field a plus.
