Position Overview:
The Customer Service Consultant manages the daily operations of the Service Drive, warmly welcoming customers and addressing their inquiries regarding scheduled maintenance, mechanical issues, or factory warranties.
This role acts as a bridge between our customers and technicians, efficiently resolving any questions or concerns that may arise.
Key Responsibilities
1. Advises clients on necessary services for routine maintenance.
2. Assists in diagnosing mechanical issues by engaging with customers or conducting visual inspections or road tests.
3. Discusses inspection findings with clients, recommends corrective actions, and prepares work orders for required repairs.
4. Generates repair orders detailing time, costs, and labor estimates for services.
5. Documents customer concerns on repair orders to assist technicians in identifying issues.
6. Communicates the work performed and associated charges to customers.
7. Gathers customer and vehicle information prior to arrival when feasible.
8. Greets customers promptly and collects vehicle details.
9. Reviews service history, inspects vehicles, and suggests additional necessary services.
10. Educates customers on vehicle care and the importance of adhering to manufacturers' maintenance specifications.
11. Provides accurate written estimates for labor and parts.12. Establishes promised service times and coordinates with dispatch as needed.
13. Secures customer signatures on repair orders and provides copies.
14. Determines customer payment methods and obtains credit approvals when necessary.
15. Monitors repair progress throughout the day.
16. Communicates with customers regarding any changes in estimates or promised times, explaining costs and time requirements in detail, and securing proper authorization for additional repairs.
Who Are We Looking For?1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
2. Minimum of 6 months experience as a Service Advisor/Writer in a dealership setting is required.
3. Customer service experience is preferred.
4. Proven track record of performance and strong customer satisfaction scores. CDK experience is a plus but training is available for the right candidate.
5. Previous sales or negotiation experience is advantageous.
6. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to follow through.
7. Self-motivated with a strong desire to excel.
8. Professional appearance and strong work ethic.
9. Ability to effectively address customer inquiries or concerns.
10. Capable of managing minor customer complaints while maintaining high satisfaction standards.
11. All applicants must successfully pass pre-employment testing to qualify for employment, including background checks and drug testing.
