FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Pallet Sorter role is essential in categorizing pallets from mixed stacks into distinct groups based on dimensions, quality, and condition. The objective is to prepare pallets for customer shipment or for further repair processes.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Applicants should possess the following:

  • Strong communication skills with internal management.
  • Adherence to safe working practices as directed.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Physical capability to lift and handle pallets frequently.
Job Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a consistent and reliable attendance record.
  • Thriving in a fast-paced environment with daily objectives.
  • Effectively managing multiple repetitive tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Collaborating with team members to address challenges proactively.
  • Removing debris such as garbage, cardboard, and stickers from RFU pallets.
  • Ensuring RFU pallets are free from exposed nails or damaged boards.
  • Stacking cardboard onto a block pallet throughout the workday.
  • Cleaning the work area at the end of the shift, including proper disposal of waste.
  • Maintaining loaner tools provided at no cost.
Education and Experience

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Previous experience in pallet handling.
  • Familiarity with using tools in pallet manufacturing.
Physical Demands

The physical requirements for this position include:

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and climbing.
  • Working in a warehouse environment with variable temperatures.
  • Exposure to outside weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
Work Environment

The work environment includes:

  • Occasional exposure to extreme temperature changes.
  • Dust and moderate noise levels (hearing protection provided).
  • Regular interaction with moving mechanical parts and forklifts.
Schedule

Monday - Friday, with 1st and 2nd shifts available.
