Overview

As a Christian Education Instructor within the LifeWise Applicant Center, you will showcase profound biblical understanding and exceptional teaching skills. The ideal candidate is an engaged church member with strong communication and interpersonal abilities, demonstrating compassion, insight, and expertise in educating children.

Qualifications and Experience

✦ At least two years of teaching experience in educational or church environments.

✦ A mature Christian faith that aligns with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

✦ Active participation in a church that shares the values of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

Job Responsibilities

✦ Conduct LifeWise Classes

✧ Execute the LifeWise curriculum effectively in the classroom.

✧ Foster relationships with students and engage in regular prayer for them.

✧ Establish and uphold a safe, organized, and engaging classroom atmosphere through various teaching strategies and a redemptive approach to discipline.

✦ Record Keeping

✧ Maintain attendance records for each class and provide necessary documentation to the Program Director or school officials.

✧ Keep accurate class rosters, noting health concerns and special needs as indicated by parent permissions.

✧ Prepare comprehensive information and materials for substitute teachers.

✦ Classroom Management

✧ Ensure a clean, inviting, and well-organized classroom environment.

✧ Be familiar with procedures for handling emergency situations.

✧ Acquire classroom supplies as required, utilizing funds allocated by the Program Director.

✦ Communication

✧ Serve as a representative of LifeWise Academy within the community.

✧ Participate in annual school events and outreach opportunities as available.

✧ Maintain ongoing communication with school staff to stay informed about schedule changes and to support student welfare.

✧ Build rapport with volunteers and keep them updated on any schedule modifications.

✧ Provide regular updates, stories, and photographs to the Program Director.

✦ Additional Responsibilities

✧ Complete the LifeWise Teacher Certification.

✧ Attend the annual LifeWise Summit.

✧ Join virtual monthly meetings of the LifeWise Teacher's Lounge.

✧ Assist with fundraising initiatives as necessary.
