Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at the U.S. Department of the Interior. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing geotechnical analyses and designing embankment dams and structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform geotechnical analyses and design embankment dams and structures
  • Develop and implement geotechnical recommendations for civil engineering projects
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and oversee field exploration programs and geotechnical laboratory investigations
  • Prepare specifications and drawings for geotechnical aspects of projects
  • Participate in risk analyses and assemble key technical information for embankment dams and structures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Current Professional Engineer License
  • At least 1 year of specialized experience in geotechnical engineering analysis and design
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions

This position requires a current, valid Professional Engineer License. Failure to provide proof of such license will cause you to be rated ineligible for this position.

Education

This position has a mandatory education requirement. You must submit a copy of college transcript(s) (unofficial copy is acceptable) to support claimed education if substituting education for experience.
