UCHealth is seeking a skilled Charge Nurse to provide leadership and guidance to our nursing team. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for supervising and mentoring staff, determining staffing levels and assignments, and evaluating the effectiveness of patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor staff during assigned shifts.
  • Determine staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, and patient acuity.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
  • Respond to complaints about patient care and related services, and manage through established channels.
  • Perform role-specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Relevant certification as determined at position level.
  • 1 year of nursing experience. Per UEXCEL Bylaws, must promote to Charge Nurse III within 3 years of promotion to Charge Nurse.
