Job Summary

The Electrical Systems Technical Lead will provide technical expertise in the specialized fields of substation apparatus, protection, and control equipment or communications equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of power system technologies, tools, systems, and vendors. The successful candidate will act as an expert to personnel in a specialized field, investigating and resolving problem situations or complex issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to T&D system operations apparatus support staff.
  • Serve as the Company expert in a specialized field, providing authoritative consultation and recommendations to senior management.
  • Lead development and implementation processes and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Evaluate policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with company safety procedures, legislative requirements, and NERC reliability standard requirements.
  • Supervise local relay technicians, communication technicians, and substation journeymen, developing and reviewing daily and weekly schedules when required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 15 years of industry experience as a substation journeyman, relay technician, communications technician, or T&D Specialist, including experience performing highly technical work of a specialized nature.
  • Project management and leadership skills, including the ability to work as a team member, maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness.
  • Highest level of communication and interpersonal skills, involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $98,200-$133,000 per year. Benefits include health care, retirement, paid time off, tuition assistance, paid short-term and long-term disability, and paid bereavement leave.
