About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Experience Design to join our team at Verizon. As a key member of our Experience Design team, you will be responsible for leading and managing teams to deliver best-in-class designs grounded in user, product, technology, and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage teams to deliver design solutions that meet user, product, and business requirements.
  • Provide strategic guidance and direction to teams to shape the end-to-end customer experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions are aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of user needs, behaviors, and motivations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and design principles to inform design decisions.
  • Effectively communicate design solutions and strategies to stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Manage and develop a team of designers, providing coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Contribute to the development of design standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Participate in design reviews, critiques, and feedback sessions to ensure high-quality design solutions.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in digital product design, with a focus on user experience and user interface design.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing design teams, with a track record of delivering high-quality design solutions.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, human-centered design, and design thinking.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with design tools, such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Sketch.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design or a related field.
  • Portfolio of professional design work, showcasing experience in digital product design.
  • 10+ years of experience in design leadership, with a focus on user experience and user interface design.
  • Experience working in Fortune 500 companies, with a focus on consumer-facing digital design management.
  • Experience building next-generation experiences at scale, with a focus on user-centered design.
