We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at New York Cancer & Blood Specialists. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our medical staff in providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Measure and record patients' vital signs, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Prepare patients for examinations, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Sterilize medical equipment and instruments, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Provide assistance to physicians during examinations, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and discretion.
- Collect and process lab specimens, ensuring accurate labeling and handling.
- Perform phlebotomies (blood draws), maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Administer EKGs, accurately recording results and communicating with medical staff.
- Record accurate patient information, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma, with at least 1 year of experience in a medical setting.
- Bilingual, English/Spanish speaking preferred, with excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Word/Excel, with the ability to learn new software and systems.
- Competitive salary up to $22 per hour.
