Job Summary

The Patient Service Representative is a critical member of the physician's care team, responsible for creating a seamless patient experience within an ambulatory clinic. This role involves front desk operations, including greeting and checking in patients, answering calls, collecting copays, and processing external medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule internal and external referrals, appointments, and procedures using Epic Cadence decision trees.
  • Responsible for registration of patients during the scheduling process, including demographics, insurance verification, and scanning and document preparation.
  • Collect point-of-service collections due per the EMR-generated patient estimate, including copays, co-insurance, and deductibles.
  • Assist patients with MyChart activation and support, including online check-in and appointment scheduling.
  • Support patient experience initiatives, including patient satisfaction surveys and feedback.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
