About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-time Overnight Support Specialist to join our team at Alternatives, Inc. in Hillsborough, NJ. As a Support Professional for our residential group home, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with developmental disabilities to live their best lives as independently as possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as administering medication, cooking meals, and personal hygiene
  • Implement individual behavioral plans, using effective teaching and mentoring techniques to help residents achieve their goals
  • Encourage residents' interests and drive them to community outings and recreational activities
  • Report any concerns about residents' health and safety, and maintain accurate documentation
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen
  • Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening
  • Ability to pass and maintain required trainings, such as CPR/first aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support training
  • Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
Work Schedule

We operate 24-hour residential group homes, offering a variety of shift options, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
