Position Summary:
The primary role of the Asset Protection Supervisor is to educate, train, and oversee personnel in the identification and prevention of theft affecting company assets. This position emphasizes the importance of customer service while maintaining a secure environment to optimize sales and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor Asset Protection staff in theft detection and prevention strategies.
  • Design and implement initiatives aimed at reducing theft among customers and employees.
  • Facilitate initial and ongoing training related to surveillance, alarm systems, and other security measures.
  • Address incidents involving customers and associates to provide necessary support and reduce liability.
  • Recover stolen goods and detain individuals committing theft or fraud against the company.
  • Conduct investigations into criminal activities affecting customers or associates on company premises.
  • Prepare detailed reports regarding theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, and other relevant activities.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards and company policies regarding apprehensions and evidence preservation.
  • Complete all required security training and maintain necessary certifications.
  • Conduct audits to verify compliance with merchandise exposure standards and asset protection protocols.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local law enforcement to enhance coordination on criminal cases.
  • Provide testimony in court regarding cases involving the company.
  • Handle special assignments and surveillance as directed by management.
  • Respond to alarm situations within the assigned location.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Resourceful and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Occasional need to reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Capability to apprehend individuals involved in theft.
  • Ability to spend long periods in surveillance areas.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of items up to 30 lbs.
