Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven General Manager to oversee the success of our store and team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for setting the bar high for performance and customer service, providing ongoing coaching and training to your team, and championing store security and loss prevention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach, lead, and develop all store employees to achieve new business and increase store growth by demonstrating knowledge of and training on systems, Company standards, account management, recovery, job duties, and performance reports.
  • Lead the charge and set the example for all store employees to identify local marketing strategies, use business-to-business partnership opportunities, obtain referrals, host and participate in community and in-store events to drive growth and build revenue.
  • Enforce adherence to quality standards, procedures, and local and state laws and regulations. Audit loan/pawn agreements and transactions to ensure staff adherence to procedures and practices.
  • Supervise and maintain office security, including cash management and loss prevention by verifying and documenting cash overages/shortages, vault, inventory, deposits, and expenses.
  • Examine, evaluate, and process loan/pawn applications and all relevant transactions, and assess risk within established limits.
  • Participate in the selection, review, hiring, and retention of new employees.
  • Develop work schedules in accordance with budget, workloads, and store needs. Ensure store is staffed for optimal performance.
  • Handle complex customer situations with integrity and professionalism.
  • Monitor and maintain internal and external store appearance and address basic facilities needs, including scheduling maintenance services.
  • Work efficiently in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment and handle multiple challenging tasks with ease to meet individual and team performance standards.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years of experience and proven success in a supervisory or leadership role in retail, financial, service, or related industries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work phone, Point of Sale, Microsoft Office, and other systems.
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and personal vehicle to use throughout the workday (mileage compensated).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age (19 in Alabama).
  • Background check required (subject to applicable law).
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of this position, which frequently include: the ability to remain in a stationary position, including standing up to 90% of the time, the ability to move and transport up to 25 pounds, the ability to move about inside and outside of the store, and the operation of mechanical controls, such as a keyboard.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Associate degree or higher.
  • Experience in check cashing, document verification, money order processing.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus and may be required for certain locations.
