Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Stationary Engineer to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a Stationary Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring boiler and boiler functions, maintaining logs and records, and performing safety checks on all devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate engines, boilers, and auxiliary equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation.
  • Monitor boiler water, chemical, and fuel levels, and adjust as necessary to maintain optimal performance.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to identify and address any potential issues or safety concerns.
  • Record data and maintain logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activity to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the overall maintenance of patient rooms and the interior/exterior of the work environment, including tasks such as changing bulbs, ballasts, switches, outlets, plumbing, and nurse call repairs.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of boilers, gauges, and valves.
  • 3-5 years of general maintenance experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Boiler Operator experience in a healthcare environment.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Black Seal or Blue Seal or Red Seal or Gold Seal at SOMC, RMC, and BMC.
  • Blue Seal or Red Seal or Gold Seal at JSUMC and OUMC.
