About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical/Plumbing Cost Estimator to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a key member of our cost management team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely cost estimates for large-scale manufacturing construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain cost plans, including producing and presenting final cost estimates.
  • Estimate at conceptual, programming, and detailed levels, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist in feasibility studies and write procurement reports, providing valuable insights to clients.
  • Manage procurement processes, including pre-qualification, bid analysis, and contractual document preparation.
  • Participate in post-contract cost variances and change control processes, ensuring timely and accurate cost management.
  • Conduct cost checks and valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate cost management.
  • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present to clients, providing transparency and accountability.
  • Contribute to value engineering, negotiate and approve final accounts, ensuring optimal cost management.
  • Maintain liaison with clients and other consultants throughout project stages, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Provide leadership to cost management teams, ensuring delivery of accountabilities and excellence in cost management.
  • Identify opportunities for business development with existing clients, reporting to line managers and utilizing marketing databases.
  • Identify improvements for cost management procedures, templates, and products, referring ideas to line managers.
Requirements
  • College degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 8 years post-graduate experience preparing large-scale MEP construction cost estimates.
  • Investor developer, corporate occupier, data center, and/or infrastructure construction experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems as they relate to construction projects.
  • Construction experience with plumbing systems a plus.
  • Good technical experience in all cost management areas, including pre-contract, post-contract, and final account.
  • Demonstrate solid presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCad Navisworks, Google Suite, and/or other related computer software.
  • Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, and be a team player.
  • Good knowledge of all methods of construction procurement.
  • Experience with advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Experience with key aspects of business development.
  • Good knowledge and experience gained within several industry sectors.
