As a Business Development Executive for our Specialty Management Solutions (SMS) division, you will play a crucial role in unlocking growth opportunities across multiple distribution channels.

The SMS model is designed to provide a simple solution for large self-insured employers and payers, driving down outpatient surgical spend and connecting members with ancillary services that complement their specialist journey. Our innovative approach streamlines services and impacts pull-through by redirecting patients to affordable, quality settings for surgical care.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to SMS annual net new client revenue targets and have accountability for SMS performance. As a champion for building an accountable growth culture, you will work closely with key stakeholders to develop and execute strategic growth plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a champion for building an accountable growth culture through direct and indirect contribution to SMS revenue objectives
  • Work with key Business Development stakeholders to develop and execute strategic growth plans
  • Create and manage direct employer book of business for external prospecting and sales engagement

As a Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for cultivating key stakeholder relationships and working within existing relationships to expand Optum and direct sales opportunities. You will drive sales enablement for channel distribution teams, analyze data to align with top growth market opportunities, and partner with Business Development leaders to refine evolving value propositions and sales strategies.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated expertise in business development, sales, and relationship-building
  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to interpret key client metrics and claims data to identify savings projections and pricing proposals
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to quarterback sales proposals and presentations
