Position Title: Radiation Therapist

Employment Type: Full-Time

The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through a variety of essential functions:

  • The individual must assess and prioritize patient needs, demonstrating the requisite knowledge and skills to provide care tailored to the physical, sensory, psychosocial, and safety requirements of patients across all age groups.
  • Optimal patient care will be ensured through comprehensive assessment, strategic planning, effective implementation, and thorough evaluation of care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families, adhering to established quality standards.
  • Precision is critical; the incumbent must execute all tasks with a high degree of accuracy, understanding the significant impact of their work.
  • Responsibilities include administering radiation treatments, performing localization, basic dosimetry, custom block fabrication, maintaining accurate records, and providing nursing and administrative support.
  • Proficiency in operating linear accelerators and simulators is required.
  • The role necessitates familiarity with electronic health records, record and verify systems, and various departmental software applications. Additionally, the individual must possess skills in skin instruction, telecommunication, and electronic medical records.
  • Annual proficiency in body mechanics, fire safety, infection control, patient safety, and CPR is mandatory. The incumbent must complete yearly core competencies specific to departmental workflows, progressing through the Core RT Competency and Development Ladder Skills upon fulfilling Staff RT requirements.
  • This position involves direct patient care responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Position Title: Radiation Therapist

Employment Type: Full-Time

Candidates must fulfill the following minimum qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Radiation Therapist license from ARRT and the Texas Department of Health (TDH), having graduated from an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in the field of Radiation Therapy.
