Job Description

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer within the Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM) team at GE Aerospace, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and testing embedded software for IVHM products. Your expertise in software development, particularly in DO-178C software development processes and certification standards, will be essential in ensuring the safety and reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop embedded software for IVHM products, adhering to GE's stringent processes and DO-178C standards.
  • Oversee continuous software integration and testing processes to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Identify software failures and implement effective solutions to ensure the robustness of IVHM solutions.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
  • At least 6 years of experience in embedded software development, with a minimum of 2 years working specifically with DO-178C software development processes and certification standards.
  • At least 2 years of experience in C coding.
  • U.S. citizenship, with proof of status required prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management, including cost, schedule, earned value, scope, and risk management.
  • Experience with DO-178C DAL B, indicating a deeper understanding of the stringent requirements for software that operates at a high level of safety criticality.
