Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our team at Occupational Therapy Consultants, Inc. as a school-based physical therapist. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with various needs and differences, including sensory, gross motor, and ambulation issues related to educational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective and educationally relevant treatment services to students with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and other educational team members to develop and implement strategies and techniques to ensure carryover of skills in the classroom and at home.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to accurately identify strengths and needs, utilizing standardized and non-standardized tools that are culturally diverse and appropriate when applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, families, and other educational team members in oral and written formats, both formally and informally.
  • Complete written work in a timely manner, including progress notes and annual reviews, ensuring legibility, accuracy, and adherence to professional ethics.
  • Submit required billing, service verification logs, and semi-monthly billing in a timely manner.
  • Display competency in providing strategies that are appropriate, including measurable outcomes, as part of the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Assess progress on an ongoing basis and modify as needed.
  • Take responsibility for seeking supervision/consultation in relation to clinical performance.
  • Attend and participate in IEP and/or pre-planning meetings as requested.
  • Exercise independent reasoning and problem-solving skills related to self, staff, or others.
  • Exhibit tact, initiative, and judgment in the performance of duties.
Requirements
  • Graduate-level degree in an accredited physical therapy program.
  • Licensed by the State of New Jersey.
  • NJ School Certification and undergo criminal history review.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience providing school-based physical therapy.
  • Participation in recent continuing education programs related to school-based physical therapy.
  • Experience with MS Word and Excel.
  • Experience working with individuals who have neurodiverse differences.
  • Collaborative communication skills.
  • Ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team.
