Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our team at YAI. As a Physical Therapist for Children, you will play a vital role in helping students with special needs achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Physical Therapy Services
    • Develop and implement individualized physical therapy plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
    • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify areas of strength and weakness.
    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to each student's care.
  • Communicate Effectively
    • Regularly communicate with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to keep them informed of each student's progress.
    • Provide clear and concise instructions to students, parents, and staff on physical therapy techniques and strategies.
  • Stay Current with Industry Developments
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in pediatric physical therapy.
    • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education and Licensure
    • Valid license and current registration as a Physical Therapist issued by the NYS Department of Education (NYSED).
  • Skills and Qualities
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
    • High degree of personal and professional integrity.
    • Ability to remain focused, flexible, and work with a great degree of self-direction in a fast-paced environment.
    • Collaborative and solution-oriented, with ability to make sound decisions and resolve conflicts.
    • Must be well-organized with superior attention to detail and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy
    • Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited school, recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
  • Experience and Certifications
    • Two (2) years of experience in pediatric physical therapy, ideally working with school-aged children with significant disabilities.
    • Pediatric Clinical Specialist Certification.
    • Neurodevelopment Treatment (NDT) training, experience, and/or certification.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $75,000 - $82,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.
