Job Summary:

As a Critical Infrastructure Manager II at Flexential, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment for our data centers. This role requires a strong technical background and leadership skills to ensure mission-critical uptime of 99.999% or higher. You will lead a team of engineers and individual contributors, providing coaching and mentorship to ensure data center best practices are followed. Additionally, you will be responsible for leading market efforts to improve effectiveness and efficiencies for both operational and business-related items.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure 24x7 facility on-call responsibility and execute all aspects of data center operations, including the operation, maintenance, and repair of all mission-critical equipment and systems.
  • Coach and mentor assigned team on data center best practices and assist in cross-market efforts to improve the Regional Operations group.
  • Lead a team of engineers and individual contributors, implementing and following company policies and procedures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, project plans, and other technical documents.
  • Drive change toward operational excellence goals, identifying constraints and proposing solutions.
  • Oversee disaster recovery dry run exercises, the installation of power for customer orders, and other electrical modifications as assigned.
  • Assist with off-hours and weekend maintenance activities when required and prepare reports on facility performance and customer utilization.
  • Create a detailed Method of Procedures (MOP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all maintenance and operational aspects of the center.
  • Provide data center training and development of training material for operations staff and perform rounds of assigned facility(s) to ensure proper equipment operation, aesthetics, and cleanliness.
  • Conduct data center tours with customers and prospects and configure monitoring/alerting of facility equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.
  • Has engaged in extensive management, soft skill, and emotional intelligence training.
  • 1+ years of experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting/problem solving.
  • 1+ years of experience within a critical infrastructure environment.
  • An understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations.
  • Applicable military experience.
  • Applicable trade experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Electrical or mechanical certifications (Associates degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline).
  • 3+ years of experience working in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation.
  • Engages in management, soft skill, and emotional intelligence training.
  • Meets/exceeds functional/technical depth and complexity.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Walk or Stand for 50% of the time.
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.
  • Lift 50lbs.
  • Travel 5% of the time.
