Job Summary

The USPI Chief Strategy Officer will play a pivotal role in driving organic growth and market expansion for United Surgical Partners. This key position will collaborate with USPI Operations leadership to develop and implement strategic plans, prioritize external physician recruitment, and cultivate internal physician relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate market dynamics, physician practice trends, and competition to inform and prioritize strategies for growth.
  • Advise Market President and Regional Vice Presidents of Operations on strategic initiatives and growth plans.
  • Manage and develop Business Development team members to achieve targeted performance objectives.
  • Research physicians and physician groups to understand facility selection decisions and guide Business Development efforts.
  • Continuously modify and execute Business Development tactics to ensure optimal business outcomes.
  • Prioritize higher acuity, service line opportunities in identified markets, collaborating with Operations and USPI's Service Line Strategy Group.
  • Lead the implementation of enterprise-wide best practices and growth programs to sustain organic growth.
  • Foster collaboration with physician groups and health system partners to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Lead discussions with local physicians and physician groups, payors, and employers to develop network opportunities and gain market insights.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a relevant field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with knowledge of industry dynamics, business development, and strategic planning.
  • Proven experience in using data to drive business development and strategy.
  • Skilled at team building and has a track-record of being a collaborative and effective manager.
  • Strong project management skills to drive execution, with measurable results to the bottom line.
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel 50%+ of time, given market coverage and depending on need.
