Join Our Team as a Practice Supervisor

This is an exciting opportunity to transform healthcare as a Practice Supervisor at Carilion Clinic. As a key member of our management team, you will supervise three sites, Roanoke, NRV, and Franklin, and lead a team of clinical and office staff. Your primary focus will be on ensuring cost-effective, age-appropriate, quality patient care services that enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote Carilion Clinic's Culture of Excellence and quality service through teamwork, respectful communication, and a professional environment.
  • Provide direct supervision of clinical and office staff, mentoring and role-modeling positive work behaviors.
  • Be actively involved in hiring, performance appraisals, coaching, and corrective action of staff in conjunction with the Director.
  • Effectively lead conflict resolution processes and identify and resolve customer service issues.
  • Provide a minimum of 12 hours of unit staffing coverage and communicate regularly with staff and Manager/Director.
  • Assist with and/or prepare work schedules for the department or work group, ensuring adequate coverage, equitable treatment of staff, and controls work hours.
  • Demonstrate effective team building and leadership skills, providing daily operational management of service components and establishing day-to-day priorities and directing staff task assignments.
  • Monitor and evaluate customer satisfaction with services, collaboratively developing and implementing programs to continuously enhance customer satisfaction within the service.
  • Implement and monitor department budget in conjunction with the Director, proactively identifying and implementing cost containment initiatives.
  • Create a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with Carilion Clinic standards and respectful of patient rights.
  • Create a safe working environment while providing staff opportunities to develop their maximum potential, facilitating professional growth and development.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Registered Nurse program required, Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience required with demonstrated leadership experience, prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia, AHA BLS-HCP required, may be required to obtain AHA-ACLS & PALS based on specific work unit within 6 months of hire.
  • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, team leadership, priority setting, and work competency skills, promotes a respectful, inclusive culture of service excellence.
