The Pipeline Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of pipeline and terminal equipment, including valves, pumps, and instrumentation, with minimal supervision. This role involves performing routine, emergency, and regulatory maintenance on pipeline and terminal assets. The technician plays a vital role in ensuring the effective maintenance and repair of the right of way, equipment, and terminal facilities, and is available around the clock to address maintenance requests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in preventive maintenance and repair activities to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical support for daily operations and projects to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Participate in the damage prevention program, including investigations and maintenance of right of way.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities and manage records in both electronic and hard copy formats.
  • Assist in emergency response efforts and maintain readiness through ongoing training.
  • Develop a foundational understanding of Cathodic Protection systems and perform necessary inspections and tests.

Competencies Required

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrates proficiency in pipeline and terminal operations, ensuring all facilities are well-maintained and compliant.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Identifies and resolves equipment and pipeline issues effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Exhibits strong verbal and written communication abilities, ensuring clear information exchange.
  • Team Collaboration: Works cooperatively with team members to achieve common goals.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in pipeline maintenance or a related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Demonstrated understanding of all role-specific competencies.
