Job Summary:
Carle Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing sonography-imaging procedures, including biopsy procedures, and selecting proper sonography protocols and techniques to obtain optimal data.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex sonography imaging by acquiring and processing patient exams in accordance with accrediting bodies and/or manufacturer guidelines and as outlined in department protocols.
- Review radiology orders for completeness and accuracy, and review patient history and supporting clinical data for medical necessity.
- Demonstrate acceptable imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment, and review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
- Transfer and verify image data in PACS and other digital and reporting systems, providing necessary medical history and information for Radiologist interpretation.
- Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, including maintaining supply inventories and orderliness of work area, and recognize malfunctions and service needs and report service needs in a timely manner.
- Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety, and report safety events immediately, including those that are a near miss.
- Assist in instruction of students and new staff as necessary, and may perform duties of Sono Lead or Imaging Coordinator in his/her absence.
- Meet productivity levels as established by department benchmarking, and assist other areas during downtimes so to maintain productivity.
- May be required to perform duties of other modalities within the department to which licensers are held by the technologist/sonographer.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in Related field OR Certificate in Radiologic Technology.
- RDMS Abdomen (AB)(ARDMS) within 1 year or RDMS Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN)(ARDMS) within 1 year OR Sonography (S)(ARRT) within 1 year.
- Minimum one (1) year of OB Sonography experience.
