Materion is seeking a skilled Chemical Stripping Operator II to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the mechanical and chemical removal of metals and the reconditioning and packaging of parts.
Key Responsibilities- Remove metals from PVD shield components using mechanical and chemical methods
- Clean, inspect, and package components according to operating procedures
- Operate and maintain high-pressure sandblasters
- Maintain and operate metals recovery systems
- Process silver nitrate
- Accurately count, weigh, and record information while carefully placing product into bags
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a background in chemical processing
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and storage
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and part drawings
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and move full 55-gallon drums of chemicals
- Requires the use of safety glasses, respirator, safety shoes, and protective clothing
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as shop orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write standard documentation and communicate with other employees
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
