Position Overview:
In collaboration with the Director of Athletics and the Head Varsity Coach, the Junior Varsity Basketball Program Coordinator is tasked with nurturing all players within the program, both on and off the court, by fostering a championship-caliber environment that encourages competition, skill development, character building, and leadership at every level.


Key Responsibilities:
The following duties outline the primary nature and scope of the role:

  • Coordinate with the head coach to arrange in-season games with other teams.
  • Organize and oversee a consistent practice schedule.
  • Promote sportsmanship, team cohesion, and adhere to all sportsmanship standards.
  • Enforce discipline in accordance with contest, school, league, and state regulations.
  • Supervise assistant coaches and support their professional growth.
  • Assist in the development of a sustainable fundraising strategy and engage with players, coaches, and the community.

Establish and maintain a collaborative relationship with the Athletic Director and Administration to facilitate the use of facilities and monitor the academic progress of student-athletes. Manage the basketball program across all levels, demonstrating a commitment to working with the Athletics Department, administration, staff, student-athletes, and parents. Support players throughout the college selection and recruitment process. Develop and implement off-season training, tournaments, and player development initiatives.


Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Effective communication skills with students, educators, coaches, and the community.
  • Experience in coaching or participating in basketball at the high school or collegiate level.
  • Knowledge of relevant league regulations.
  • Strong organizational and motivational abilities.
