Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Women's Center team at Wythe County Community Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care to women and newborns, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care to women and newborns, including obstetrical, gynecological, and postpartum care.
  • Assess and triage patients with various types of obstetrical and gynecological situations, recognizing and effectively treating life-threatening conditions.
  • Admit patients to labor and deliver, providing care for the patient and newborn after delivery.
  • Assess and care for newborns, recognizing anomalies and transferring to a higher level of care if indicated.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients and families.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of VA or eligibility to sit for the NCLEX exam.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification within 6 months of hire date.
  • Fetal Monitoring certification within 6 months of hire date.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire date.
  • At least one year of previous experience in a Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Post Partum, or GYN Department as an RN.
