Safety and Security Monitor

Gateway Rehab is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Safety and Security Monitor. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients and staff within our Inpatient treatment programs.

  • Coordinate and execute patient monitoring and building safety protocols to ensure a secure environment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs of patient movement and security incidents.
  • Stay up-to-date on all facility rules, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct regular safety and security rounds throughout the building to identify potential risks and hazards.
  • Conduct thorough room inspections and complete reports of findings to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Support Nursing staff with visual searches and patient room searches to ensure patient safety.
  • Provide crisis management and patient de-escalation support to clinical staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with Counselor Techs to ensure smooth patient transfers and transitions.
  • Monitor medication and MAT lines to prevent diversion and ensure patient safety.
  • Participate in K-9 walk-throughs to identify potential security risks.
  • Provide support to the program as needed to ensure a safe and secure environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
  • Knowledge of 12-step programs and chemical dependency treatment.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center.

Additional Requirements

  • Pass a PA Criminal Background Check.
  • Obtain Child Abuse and FBI Clearances.
  • Pass a Drug Screen.
  • Complete a TB Test.
  • Pass a MVR Check.

Work Environment

  • Work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to stay awake during shift.
