We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our pediatric care team at Pediatric Specialty Care at Hopewell. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in ensuring the general health and well-being of our patients by providing direct nursing care under the medical direction and supervision of our attending physicians, RNs, and facility Medical Director.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients, including administering medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
- Monitor the performance of non-licensed personnel and assist in modifying treatment regimens to meet the physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients.
- Actively participate in the planning and delivery of care to patients, ensuring that all actions as a licensed professional are accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered.
- Perform and promote timely and accurate documentation, including care plans, nursing notes, medical administration records, treatment records, and other necessary records.
- Provide evaluation of needs of patients and complete individual education in accordance with established procedures.
- Perform all position duties according to safety rules and standards of practice required for this position, and as required to ensure the general safety of staff, patients, and visitors of the facility.
- Report to the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, RN Supervisor, and/or licensed professional any unusual symptoms, changes of condition, daily needs, and progress of patients.
Requirements:
- Credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse with a current state license in good standing for the state in which work is performed.
- Valid, current BLS/CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Training and work experience in a pediatric setting preferred.
- Meets the qualifications of a Child Care Supervisor as described in 55 Pa. Code Chapter 3800.
- This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
